Ipswich: Man Charged With Bus Assault

A man has been charged after a serious assault in Ipswich where a man in his 60s was pushed from a bus.

The 67-year-old man had been travelling on an Ipswich Buses service on route 10 on Thursday 13th December.  At around 6:05pm the bus stopped in Defoe Road near to the junction with Macauley Road and as he went to get off he was pushed, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head, leaving him unconscious.

The man is still receiving treatment for his injuries.

Derek Thompson aged 26 years from Riverside Road, Ipswich has been charged with GBH without intent and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday 8 April.
