Ipswich: Man 'Critical' After Assault

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after an assault in Ipswich this morning.

Police were called at 3.25am to reports that a man had been assaulted in Old Foundry Road, Ipswich.

The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital with serious head injuries and has now been moved to Addenbrokes Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

A 36-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He is currently being questioned by detectives at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101.
