Ipswich: Man Injured After Explosion

A man has suffered serious injuries after an explosion at a flat in Ipswich last night.

Emergency services were called to the flat on Ellenbrook Green at 10pm to reports of the explosion, and the injured man was found at the property. He was taken to Ipswich Hospital.

A 41-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

The man who suffered the serious injuries has been now transferred to the specialist burns unit at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. He is in a critical but stable condition.

A structural examination has been carried out at the flat, and inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the explosion.
