Ipswich: Taxi Driver Robbed At Knifepoint

Police are appealing for information after a taxi driver was robbed in Ipswich at knifepoint in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The driver was sat in his taxi on Bishop's Hill at around 4.50am when three men approached. Two of the men got into the taxi whilst the other stood next to it.

The men who got into the car threatened the driver with a knife and stole cash, a pda, a sat nav and a mobile phone before assaulting him, hitting him over the head, and running off into nearby bushes.

The driver then drove off to seek help, having suffered facial injuries.

All three men were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen the three men in the area before or after the robbery, or anyone with any information about this incident.
