Man Arrested Over Ipswich Rape

A man was arrested in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 1 May on suspicion of rape following an incident in Ipswich on Sunday 20 April.

A woman reported that she was raped in an alleyway off a car park off Lower Brook Street at around 2.35am.

Following police enquiries and media appeals a man was arrested at an address in Ipswich just before 4am this morning.

The 40 year old man from Ipswich is currently being held in custody for questioning at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
