Man Needs Surgery After Attack

A man's been left needing special facial surgery after he was attacked by a gang over the bank holiday weekend.

Suffolk Police have just told Heart the 35 year old man was attacked by four men near the junction of St Helen's Street and Grove Lane in Ipswich after leaving the Duke of York pub at around 11:30 pm on Friday April 29th.

He was taken to The Ipswich Hospital where he was treated and subsequently discharged.

Investigating Officer, Ds Matt Little, said: "Due to the man’s extensive injuries, we have not yet been able to take a statement from him and obtain an accurate account of what happened. In fact, he is due to attend hospital again to have specialist surgery on his face. We are keen to speak to any witnesses who saw this man in the pub or who saw the actual attack."
