Man Pleads Guilty to Woman's Murder

A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a woman in Ipswich.

Police were contacted by the ambulance service shortly before 7:30pm on Wednesday 26 January following reports that a woman had been injured inside a house on Withipoll Street.

Officers arrived and found 36-year-old Alison Studd from Pauline Street in the town with serious leg injuries.

She was taken to Ipswich Hospital, but died from extreme blood loss the following day.

John Grimwood was arrested and subsequently charged with one count of murder.

The 29-year-old unemployed man from Canham Street in the town appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday 28 June and pleaded guilty to the charge.

He has been remanded in court custody prior to sentencing at the same court on Friday 8 July.
