Man Who Died After Being Stabbed Named

A man who died after being found stabbed at a house on Poplar Close in Honington near Thetford early on Wednesday morning, 16th March, has been named as Leslie Metcalfe.

The 23-year-old from Honington suffered wounds to his body and was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital before being transferred to Papworth Hospital where he died on the evening of Thursday 17th March.

A post mortem examination found he died as a result of a single stab wound to the heart. The coroner has been informed and an inquest will open in due course.

His death is being treated as murder, and investigations are ongoing.

A 22-year-old woman from the Bury St Edmunds area, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, remains on police bail and must return to Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 23rd March.
