Needham: Man Admits Manslaughter

A man's admitted manslaughter with diminished responsibility after a woman's body was found in Needham Lake.

An Ipswich man has today, Thursday 9 February, pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter with diminished responsibility following the death of Ruth Jacobs in Needham Market.

 

The body of 60-year-old Mrs Jacobs was found in Needham Lake on the morning of Sunday 20th February 2011. A post mortem examination found that she died from drowning.

 

Stephen Jacobs, a 59-year-old man from Spinner close in Ipswich, was arrested by police the same day. He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today and entered his plea. His sentencing has been scheduled for 8 March 2012.
