Newmarket: Body Found in Woods

The body of a man has been found in woods off Bury Road in Newmarket.

Around 6.15pm this evening, Thursday 24 January, four men went into Newmarket Police Station reporting that they had not seen a friend for four days but they had been out searching for him and found him dead in the wooded area.

He had not previously been reported as missing to police.

Officers went to the woods  and found the body of a man, who is understood to be in his 30s or 40s.

The area has been cordoned off while an initial investigation gets underway at the scene.

At this stage, police say the death is being treated as unexplained.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Police on 101.
