A 12-year-old girl has been assaulted by a man in Newmarket.

A 12-year-old girl has been assaulted by a man in Newmarket.

It happened at around 8pm on Friday 21 June in Exning Road.

She was walking along Exning Road with two other girls when they noticed a man following them.

He continued to follow them until they reached the leisure centre/college.

As they arrived at this point, the man touched and spoke to the victim inappropriately and then walked off in the direction of Exning.

The man is described as white, approximately 45-years-old, with ginger hair. He was wearing a green denim jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact PC Jonathan Waller at Mildenhall Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
