Sexual Assault In Park

Detectives are currently investigation with an allegation of sexual assault in Great Cornard near Sudbury.

Police were contacted at around 11pm last night, Thursday 16th of June, by a woman who was reporting that she had been assaulted by a man whilst in a park area near Blackhouse Lane.

The 31-year-old woman has told police the attack happened between 7:45pm and 8:30pm and officers are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.

The offender is described as a white man, between 50-60 years old, around 5ft 11ins, of slight build, with slicked back dark coloured hair with grey streaks, wearing black thick framed glasses, a white short sleeved shirt with buttons and black chino trousers. The man was carrying a black rope dog lead and was with a dog, possibly a Golden Retriever or Labrador.

The woman was taken to the county's Sexual Assault Referral Centre. A search of the area was carried out and officers have been on the scene.
