SUFFOLK: 50 Firefighters Tackle Blaze

Fire crews are tackling a blaze at Lakenheath Clay Centre in Eriswell, Suffolk.


Around 50 fire cews are at the scene of a fire in suffolk this morning.

They were called to Lakenheath Clay centre, in Eriswell at around 6.30 this morning, to reports of a smoke filled building.

Engines from Brandon, Mildenhall, and Newmarket, and the Water Carrier attended also from Newmarket.

Further fire engines from Bury St Edmunds, and one from Thetford, Water Carrier from Newmarket and Turntable Ladder sent from Bury. Water Bowser from RAF Mildenhall is there as well.

Further appliances from Wickham Brook and Bury St Edmunds were sent at around 8 o'clock.

 Crews are using 3 hose reels an 3 covering jets, with water supplies being assisted by the US air force. Natural ventilation of the building is taking place.

Crews from Long Melford, Elmswell and Haverhill are attending as relief crews and a fire investigation officer will be attending this morning.
