Suffolk: Council Creates New Website

Suffolk County Council has created a new website to try and make it more user-friendly.

The new site will run alongside the old website and people are being asked to follow the link to try it and give their feedback.

The idea is to make it easier and quicker for people to get information and do things like pay their bills.

The whole cost of the website has been around £120,000. However the council says this is much cheaper than some other council websites across the country, which have seen prices going up to more than £2 million.

Jane Storey from the County Council is telling Heart: "If you get onto a website that doesn't give you the information it is incredibly frustrating and you end up with a really bad impression of that organisation, so it's massively important that we spend a bit of money and make it easier to access, easier for people to get the information they want."

You can view the new website, by going to: http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/ and following the link on the homepage.
