Suffolk: Man Killed In A12 Crash Named

A man killed in a crash off the A12 in Suffolk has been named by police as 49-year-old Charles Lamont.

His car is thought to have come off the road at Capel St Mary near the BP garage on Sunday morning.

The overturned car was found on Sunday afternoon and Mr Lamont was pronounced dead at the scene.

Norfolk Police have told Heart: "Officers were contacted just after 4:10pm to reports of a car on its roof in a field just after the BP garage. The scene was attended and a silver BMW was located on its roof, off the south-bound carriageway. The car had collided with a tree.

The body of a man was found with the vehicle. Police have named him as Charles Lamont, a 49-year-old man from Dundee.

Following the initial investigation officers now believe that the collision may have taken place sometime between 6:30am and 9am on Sunday morning and police are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have seen the vehicle leave the road to get in contact.
