Suffolk: Plans For Fire & Rescue

Heart's being told there would be no risk to public safety if we see Suffolk and Cambridgeshire's fire services fully merge in the future

At the moment it is just one of the potential options being looked at by both of the services as they may face further budget cuts in the future.

They already share a control room in Cambridge which has saved them thousands of pounds, but they have now been given permission to look at the possibility of a full merger in the future.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Mark Hardingham has been speaking to Heart about the possible plans:
