Suffolk: Second Person Dies After RTC

A second person's died after a crash between a car and two lorries yesterday afternoon in Suffolk.

A second person has died following a collision on the A14 at Trimley yesterday afternoon, Monday 20 August.

Police were called at 1:50pm to reports of a collision involving a Fiat Punto and two lorries on the eastbound carriageway, close to the Trimley slip road.

The driver of the Punto, a woman in her fifties. died at the scene. A teenage boy who was a passenger in the car, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital with life threatening injuries and has since sadly died.

A second passenger, a man in his sixties, suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Ipswich Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 50-year-old man from Dovercourt was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre. He has since been released on police bail and is due to return on Tuesday 16 October.

Police continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in contact with the Serious Collision Investigation Team immediately on 101.
