Five guns and some ammunition have been taken during a break in at a house in Suffolk.

Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a home in Otley between 1.30pm and 4.40pm yesterday, Monday 22 April, in which five firearms and a quantity of ammunition were stolen.

Someone smashed a window to gain entry to the premises and then made a search before breaking into a gun cabinet and stealing the weapons including two bolt-action rifles, two 12-bore shotguns and a side by side shotgun. Boxes of ammunition were also taken.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the Otley area between these times yesterday to contact officers if you saw anything unusual and are urging anyone with information about those responsible for the break-in to call Suffolk Coastal CID on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
