More than 100 of our servicemen are back home with their friends and family after more than 6 months serving in Afghanistan.

101 Royal Engineers from 9 parachute Squadron, 23 Engineer Regiment  who are based in Woodbridge in Suffolk arrived back home late on Thursday evening.

The troops have been working in Southern Afghanistan as part of the 16 Air Assault Bridge.

They have flown back via Cyprus where they have spent 36 hours in 'decompression', where they can unwind before returning to the UK. In Cyprus they will have received a number of briefings and guidance to assist their return to normal life.
