Teams Investigate Suspect Bomb in Suffolk

Special teams are investigating after the discovery of an explosive at a building site in Saxmundham in Suffolk.

At around midday today a worker said they'd found a six foot long, torpedo shaped shell at the site on Church Street in the town.

Suffolk police are telling Heart they don't know if it's just the casing, but have closed the street and set up an exclusion zone.

Bomb disposal squads have now called in the RAF to help them identify what the device is. It is now thought to potentially be a canister, however, they are still trying to find out exactly what it is and whether or not it is dangerous, so a cordon remains in place.
