Three Men Charged with Armed Robbery

Three men are due in court this morning, charged in connection to an armed robbery at a jewellery shop.

The three men were charged yesterday evening been charged with offences in connection with an attack at Goldsmith Jewellers on Tavern Street in Ipswich shortly after 10am on Wednesday 15 June when several men broke the shop window with a sledgehammer and stole some expensive watches.

Later that day, 21-year-old mechanic Danny Obryan from Church Lane in Bulphan; 25-year-old railway worker Benjamin Murphy from Austen Close in Loughton and 24-year-old social worker Charles Onyemelukwe from Cubitt Street in Camden, north London were arrested in Essex and have all now been charged with one count of conspiracy to rob.

All three have been detained in police custody prior to their appearances at Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

Police are still looking for a fourth man, but detectives say they are liaising with counterparts from another force in order to find him.
