Woman's Porsche Stolen After Man Gets In

A woman's had her Porsche stolen on the A140 at Stoke Ash in Suffolk.

The Porsche was being driven by its female owner northbound on the A140 at around 6.10pm on Tuesday when the car behind flashed its lights. The car then pulled alongside the Porsche and a female passenger in the car pointed to the front of the Porsche.

The woman stopped in a layby to check if there was a problem. A man then opened the driver’s door and threatened her. She got out of the Porsche and the man drove off in it towards Diss with the other car following.

The woman was shaken but unhurt and ran to a nearby pub to raise the alarm.

The Porsche is a blue Boxster S, registration LY10CUC. Also stolen were two bags containing items including cash, a watch, a mobile phone and clothing.

The man is described as white, in his early 30s with fair/blond hair and a straight fringe and was wearing a dark coat. The female passenger is described as having dark hair in a scruffy ponytail. The car she was in is thought to have been white.

Detective Inspector Karl Smith says, "Such incidents are rare, but I would urge all drivers to be aware of their surroundings and keep windows and doors locked when their vehicle is stationary. If you are being signalled to stop by another vehicle, only stop if you are safe and happy to do so. Call police if the other driver’s behaviour is threatening or putting you at risk, or drive to the nearest police station.

Officers are working with neighbouring police forces to trace the Porsche’s journey after it was stolen. I want to hear from anyone who may have seen the car on the A140 or further afield in Norfolk or Suffolk from around 6.15pm onwards last night."

Calls should be made to DC Ben Clark at West Suffolk CID on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
