The Albion clinched the League One title with a win at Walsall. We look back on a fantastic few days for Sussex Football with the county's two major teams winning promotion as champions.

Crawley were the first. A 2-0 win over Tamworth on Saturday 9th April gave them the Blue Square Premier title and promotion to the Football league for the first time in the club's history.

It was the culmination of a magnificent season which also saw the team reach the fifth round of the FA Cup and a glory match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

On Tuesday the 12th it was Brighton's turn. A dramatic 4-3 win over Dagenham and Redbridge saw them promoted from League 1 to the Championship in time for their transfer from Withdean to the Amex Stadium.

Then on Saturday 16th April the Seagulls wrapped up the League One title with a win at Walsall to ensure they would be promoted as champions.
