Sussex and Surrey were covered in snow on Sunday Morning - the exception was along the coast between Brighton and Worthing

School Closures

East and north Sussex and Surrey were worst hit. The police, though told Heart all major roads in the area were passable.

Gatwick opened for business as usual. The airport says its £8m investment in doubling the size of its snow clearing equipment has paid off and the nine cancellations were due to planes being affected at other airports.

It was a chilly Saturday night for passengers on board a bus on the A21 in Hurst Green. They were stuck in freezing temperatures for four hours.

The Met Office are not forecasting any more snow, but with temperatures staying around freezing through the day what snow has fallen will take some time to clear.

The Hastings area was particularly hit; and bin collections have been cancelled on Monday. Instead staff will be employed clearing roads and pavements
