Forget the Angel of the North - Sussex will have its own landmark to be proud from Tuesday.

Forget the Angel of the North - Sussex will have its own landmark to be proud from today.

A massive thirty feet sculpture will be unveiled on the South Downs near Goodwood.

'Artemis' is a four tonne bronze horses head designed by Nic Fiddian-Green.

Mr Fiddian-Green says "My primary aim is to place beautiful works of art into the landscape, and I can think of nowhere more powerful for my Greek horses head 'Artemis' than on the ancient site of the Trundle at Goodwood overlooking the steeple of Chichester Cathedral to the sea and across to the Isle of Wight".

Work began on the contemporary piece back in the autumn of last year, so it could be finished in time for this year's flat racing season.

The head will be moved to the member's lawn at Goodwood racecourse  to celebrate the start of the season in late July.
