Teacher's Marathon Challenge

Home From Rome - John Dwyer (Rome)

A teacher at a West Sussex school has run from the Colosseum in Rome all the way back home to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

John Dwyer is usually found teaching Geography at Farlington Girls School in Horsham but has spent his summer holiday running 45 marathons in 50 days.

He's due to arrive back in London around 4pm this afternoon and has so far raised more than £4,000 for charity.

The challenge has seen him take on blisters, mountains and heatwaves on a journey through Italy, Switzerland and France.

You can see a video and photo blog of John's journey here.
