Man charged with driving and assault offences after A27 Shoreham flyover incident
Uckfield Bomb Disposal Search
At 9.10am today Sussex Police officers executed a search warrant under the Explosives Substances Act at an address in Anvil Close, Uckfield.
Some items at the address were examined by explosives experts from military ordnance disposal, to assess what their potential for harm may be.
Some large fireworks are being taken by military ordnance for safe storage. Some smaller fireworks, and some chemicals which in their current state are not hazardous, are being stored by Sussex Police.
There was no risk to the public and no adjacent premises were evacuated.
A 38-year old man was interviewed at the address under caution, but was not arrested, enquiries will continue to establish what if any offences may have been committed..
There is no suggestion of any terrorist or other extremist involvement.
