A (Half) Marathon Of A Show
What a show we had on Friday! Tom and Nicola were in the studio as usual but Jack was broadcasting live from the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital. Why? Because today Heart Breakfast attempted to fill 175 places to run the Brighton Half Marathon in February next year on behalf of 'Rockinghorse Children's Charity'.
'Have a Heart' are supporting 'Rockinghorse' this year to raise money for a project to create a new cutting edge unit for treating children with serious injuries.
It was quite an emotional and inspirational show. We heard from so many amazing people who work within the hospital and of course the families who have experienced the incredible work that 'Rockinghorse Children's Charity' do first hand
Tom already signed up to take part but then we had an offer from Jack that you, our listeners' could not refuse. Jack promised, if we filled all the places by 9am then he would run it too.....
Just before 9am, WE DID IT!!!
WE FILLED ALL 175 SPACES! Thankyou to all that signed up to join Team Heart! With all of you, it means we are guaranteed to raise a minimum of £43,750 for Rockinghorse! FANTASTIC!!! Now get training! We'll see you at the start line in February!
