29 June 2013, 08:58

Police investigating a death in Aylesbury have charged a man with murder.

Russell Gill (42) from Lavender Walk, Aylesbury, has been charged in connection with the murder of Darrell Farnham, aged 44, who was found dead at his home address in Belgrave Road shortly after 10.45pm on Sunday night (23/6).

He has been remanded tin custody to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates Court this morning (29/6).

Four other people arrested in connection with the investigation, two men aged 40 and 42 arrested on suspicion of murder and two women aged 36 and 37 arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on bail to various dates in mid-July.

Post mortem results have revealed Darrell was killed with a cross bow.

Investigating officer Detective Superintendent Chris Ward from Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit said: “This is very much still an open investigation and we are continuing to appeal for witnesses and any information.

“We believe there could be other offenders and so we are currently concentrating on determining exactly what happened on Sunday night.

“We have a dedicated team working to solve this crime and bring any offenders to justice and I want to reassure residents that this appears to be an isolated crime and not a random attack.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call them on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
