Buckinghamshire: One Missing Prisoner Arrested

One of two violent offenders on the run from a prison in Buckinghamshire since Sunday has been arrested in Aylesbury.

Ricardo Dunn, aged 32, formerly of Burnley, Lancashire, was arrested by officers from Thames Valley Police in Thame Road, Aylesbury.

Darren Douglas (pictured), aged 46, originally from the Birmingham area, remains at large at this time.

Two people, a 25-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both from the Aylesbury area, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and are currently in police custody at this time.

Supt Gez Chiariello, local police commander for Aylesbury Vale, said: “There has been a significant amount of police activity in and around the Aylesbury area tonight while officers carry our searches for the absconded prisoners.

“These searches are still on-going at this time and the information that we currently have suggests that the remaining absconded prisoner, Darren Douglas, is in the Aylesbury area.

“I would urge anyone who knows of his whereabouts to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.

“Douglas is a violent offender and I would advise anyone who sees him not to approach him and contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information about the location of Dunn should contact Thames Valley Police via the 24-hour Enquiry Line on 101, or in an emergency 999.
