Farnborough Back On After Nightmare Weather
A full programme of events is expected today at Farnborough Air Show.
The opening day of the one of the world's most important air shows was abandoned early after being hit by a torrential British summer downpour in Hampshire.
Farnborough air show organisers urged exhibitors at the trade show to evacuate the site at around 3pm on Monday.
Power to pavilions full of high-tech kit being showcased at the event was cut for safety reasons, and flying displays were halted.
A spokesman for the air show yesterday said: ``Due to the heavy rain, unfortunately we have had to cancel today's flying display and close the show early.
``This is of course disappointing news but safety remains our number one priority. We expect to run a full programme of events tomorrow and the rest of the week. All of today's tickets are valid tomorrow.''
