Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a 17-year-old boy who failed to appear in court in connection with a rape inquiry.

Ismail Dilsoz, aged 17, of Headington, has been charged with a serious offence but is yet to stand trial.

He was due to appear before Oxford Crown Court today (18/10), but failed to appear and is now wanted.

Thames Valley Police applied for reporting restrictions to be lifted to enable this appeal to be made, and the judge approved this application.

Det Con Matthew Hodgetts said: “Ismail Dilsoz is wanted for a serious offence of rape and for breach of bail.

“It is believed he may still be in the Oxford area but there is a possibility he is now further afield.

“I would urge anyone who knows where he is or has information about his recent whereabouts to come forward.”

If you see Ismail Dilsoz, please call 999. If you have information about his whereabouts please call Thames Valley Police’s 24-hour Enquiry Centre on 101.
