Hungerford: Man Held After Woman Stabbed
Police have arrested a 49 year old man after they were called out to reports a woman had been stabbed.
Officers found the injured woman at the house on Robins Hill, Inkpen near Hungerford in Berkshire at around 2.20pm yesterday afternoon.
The 48 year old victim was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where she remains in a serious condition.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene. He's still in custody.
Det Insp Stuart Bosley of Force CID said: 'We would like to reassure the public that this was not a random attack.
'Currently officers are at the scene as part of the investigation and are carrying out house to house enquiries.'
Anyone with any information about this incident who has not yet contacted the police is asked to call 101.
