The Duchess of Cambridge's childhood home in the Thames Valley has been bought for 10K lower than the asking price.

The house in Bradfield Southend in Berkshire went for 485K and was sold to a local family at auction.

Kate's parents bought the Victorian semi-detached in 1979, and lived there with their three children until they moved to a larger property in nearby Bucklebury in 1995.

During their time at the house Kate's parents added a ground-floor extension and started their company - which has made them millionaires - in the garden shed.

The Middletons' former property - called West View has been let to tenants for the past few years.
