M40 Crash: Two People Dead

Two people have died after a crash on the M40.

It happened just after 1.30pm on the London-bound carriageway between junctions five and four, near High Wycombe.

Police are telling Heart only one vehicle was involved – with both the driver and passenger being confirmed dead at the scene.

Officers say their next-of-kin have not yet been informed.

The motorway was closed for most of Thursday afternoon, with queues reported back almost all the way to Oxford.

Insp Daren Courtnay said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision to contact the police immediately via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101."
