Maidenhead: Cyclist Found Injured In Street

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was found with serious head injuries in Maidenhead.

Officers were called to Courthouse Road shortly before 10pm yesterday (5/7) where a man and woman had found the injured man lying on the ground.

The man, aged in his thirties, was taken to Wexham Park Hospital and has since been transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Will Holbrook, from Force CID based at Maidenhead, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about how this man came to sustain serious head injuries. At this stage detectives are working to establish the circumstances and I am keeping an open mind about how he came to be seriously injured.

“I would also be interested to hear from anyone who saw a man riding a silver mountain bike with a black pattern on the frame in Courthouse Road, Maidenhead, at around 9.40pm on Wednesday (5/7) who may have seen how this man came off his bicycle. I would also be interested to speak to anyone who saw the man off his bicycle, and can assist with how he ended up on the ground.”

A scene watch which was in place in Courthouse Road has been lifted.
