A woman has suffered burns after having liquid poured on her in Maidenhead.

The 34-year-old victim was walking her dog in Braywick Park on the morning of Thursday 4th October, when she states that a man ran past her and poured a substance over her head, causing burns to her face and chest area.

The incident was reported to police by Berkshire Ambulance Service shortly after 10am.

The victim underwent a skin graft for her injuries and was released from hospital yesterday.

Sgt Stefan McLaughlin, investigating officer, said: "We are very keen to hear from anyone with information about the incident who was either in the park before, during, or after the incident occurred.

"It is vital any witnesses come forward and assist with our on-going inquiry following this isolated incident, for which the motive remains under investigation."
