A man's been arrested after a 50-year-old man was injured during a stabbing in Oxford.

Thames Valley Police were called to a property in Warburg Crescent at 11.05am on Thursday (22/11) to reports a man had been assaulted.

The 50-year-old man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with injuries to his face and arm. He is in a stable condition.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He has been bailed by police until January and one of the conditions of his bail is that he does not live or sleep in Oxford.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Craig Burchall said: "We believe the two men were known to each other.

"Officers have been offering reassurance to the community and want to assure people that we are treating this as an isolated incident."
