Man Bailed Over Oxford Street Attack

A man's been arrested and bailed over an attack in Oxford City Centre.

Police say it happened outside the EE Store on Cornmarket Street on Sunday, 25 September at around 1.45am.

A 29 year-old man, was walking down Cornmarket Street towards Ship Lane, when he was assaulted by another man who was walking in the opposite direction.

A 31 year-old man from Durham has been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

He has been released on bail until 6th November.

Investigating officer Det Con Marc Robinson, based at Oxford Police Station, said: “We are in the process of conducting a full investigation. One arrest has been made.

“Cornmarket is a busy street in Oxford and we believe there were a number of other people around this area at the time of the incident and we urge anyone with any information relating to the incident to contact us on the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43160266732."
