Man Critical Following Attack In Reading
A man is still in hospital with serious head injuries following an attack in Reading on Friday night.
Shortly after 11.20pm on Friday3rd June officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Meadow Road and Milford Road, near the Readipop venue.
A number of men had been seen running along Meadow Road carrying traffic cones and other items. It is believed approximately 15 to 20 people became involved in an altercation.
The victim, a 21-year-old man, sustained a serious head injury. He was able to walk a short distance away from the scene where he collapsed.
He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital by ambulance and was transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Investigating officer Det Con Tim Lloyd, from Reading Force CID, said; “The incident started at Readipop venue in Milford Road, where a private function was taking place. There were in excess of 200 people at the event therefore a number of people are likely to have witnessed the altercation which has left a man with serious head injuries. They may have vital information which could assist the investigation.
“I would appeal to these people to come forward and speak to police if you saw what happened.”
If you have any information about the incident, please contact Det Con Lloyd via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
