Man Found Injured In Reading Has Died

Police are appealing for information about the death of a man in Reading

A 55-year-old man who sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital after being found unconscious inside a property in Prince of Wales Avenue, shortly after 2.30am on Sunda, died yesterday. His next of kin has been informed.

The man's death is being treated as unexplained and detectives are investigating the circumstances of the man's death.

Officers are appealing to trace a woman who may have information about how the man sustained injuries. She is mixed race, 5ft 2ins, aged approximately 35 years old, slim with long black wavy hair.

Investigating officer Det Insp Jon Groenen, of Berkshire Force CID, said: “We are working to establish how the man, who has now sadly died in hospital, came to be injured.

“We are carrying out enquires in the area and, as part of this, I would like to speak to the woman who has been described who may have been with the deceased man prior to the incident as she may have information which could help us to piece together what happened.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area of Prince of Wales Avenue and Oxford Road between 2am to 2.30am on Sunday. If you have any information which could assist the investigation please come forward and speak to police.”
