A 26-year-old was stabbed in the neck and beaten up by a gang at his home on Basingstoke Road in January
Linden George, aged 34, of Ordell Road, Tower Hamlets, London, was sentenced to 10 years at Reading Crown Court.
At around 4.40pm on 30 January this year, a group of men forced their way into the victim's house and assaulted him.
The offenders then stole the victim’s property before escaping.
The victim sustained a stab wound to his neck and cuts and bruising to his hands, arms and legs. He required hospital treatment and has since been discharged.
George was arrested and charged in connection with the offence on 29 April this year.
He pleaded not guilty, but following a four-day trial at the same court which concluded on Friday, he was found guilty by a unanimous jury. .
Following the sentencing, investigating officer Detective Constable Adrian Counsell said: “This victim was subjected to a vicious attack in his own home. This sentence shows that violent crime will not be tolerated within Thames Valley Police.
