Extra Patrols After Body Of Man Found Iffley Road on Thursday
Thames Valley Police is investigating an unexplained death in Oxford, which is now being treated as suspicious.
Police officers were called to an address in Iffley Road at 2.58pm on Thursday (7/4) after a man was found inside the property.
The ambulance service was also called and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man is yet to be formally identified and next of kin has yet to be informed of his death at this time.
A post mortem to determine cause of death is scheduled to take place
Local Policing Area Commander for Oxford, Supt Christian Bunt, said: “I would like to reassure the community that we are conducting a thorough investigation into this unexplained death, which is now being treated as suspicious by detectives.
“We have already conducted some house to house enquiries and CCTV is being obtained and reviewed.
“Residents will see an increased police presence in the Iffley Road area. If anyone has any concerns then please speak to a police officer or police community support officer.
“Further, if you have any information about the incident please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
