70 year-old Reading FC Chairman, John Madejski, has announced he's to run the 2012 Reading Half-Marathon.

The property and football magnate ran his first Reading Half-Marathon in 2005 - and for 2012 has also got his team manager Brian McDermott, and many of the staff at the Madejski Stadium, into running the event.

The 13-mile course spectacularly finishes inside the stadium in front of thousands of spectators.

He'll be running to raise money for the Duchess of Kent House Hospice.

The hospice provides psychologists, aromatherapists, dieticians, patient transport and outings, gardens, chaplain and family bereavement services.

The hospice based in Reading has 16 beds, which costs £100,000 a year to support.
