Slough: Shooting

Searches have been carried out at a street in Slough after shots were fired outside a house.

At around 3.40am yesterday morning police were called to reports of a shooting in Wellesley Road causing damage to the front of a property.

There were no injuries and there was no attempt to gain entry to the address.

The area had to be cordoned off for forensic examination and searches.

Investigating officer Det Insp Nicky Hurdley said:

"While there were a number of residents at the address, who were shocked and distressed by the incident, no one has been injured, and there was no attempt by the offenders to enter the property.

"The exact motive for the attack is still unclear, though at this time it is not believed to be a random attack. We would ask anyone who was in the area and saw any vehicles or pedestrians to get in touch."
