Thame: Woman Dies In House Fire

A woman has died after a house fire in Thame.

Fire crews were called to the house at around 3.25pm yesterday afternoon.
 
Fire appliances from Thame, Wheatley and Slade attended and on arrival were confronted with a fire in the living room of the property and heavy smoke logging throughout.
 
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire and located the woman but were unable to save her.
 
The cause of the fire is not yet known and a joint investigation by Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police is ongoing.
