Thames Valley Police arrested three men in Oxford on Tuesday as part of an investigation into child exploitation.

The men, aged 32, 24, and 21 were arrested following searches in the city and are being questioned on suspicion of sexual offences.

Det Chief Insp Paul Gration from the Oxford City Police Area said: “These arrests are part of the ongoing child sexual exploitation investigation, Operation Bullfinch.

“As always, this phase of the inquiry has been conducted in close partnership with Oxfordshire County Council. Our approach demonstrates our shared determination to keep children safe.”

Officers started their investigation after a number of girls, many of whom were "known'' to children's services, were reported missing.

In March, more than 100 officers took part in raids as police executed warrants across Oxford.

Police chiefs posted a video on YouTube to reassure community members and urge any potential victims to come forward.
