We remember our primary school dinners well for very different reasons...
Me (Michelle), I loved them and everything about them, the lovely school dinner ladies, lovely food, and school dinners were the first time I'd ever experienced egg mayonnaise or quiche! I loved 'seconds' and loved helping to set up and even wipe the tables afterwards.
Matt however....he hated them, and remembers liver (yuk!), multi-coloured metal water jugs and smelly plastic cups! At his school parents had to send in a list of everything their little ones didn't like, and if it wasn't on the list you had to eat it - so no getting out of eating things there!
We know things have moved on since we were at school and with the help of Jamie Oliver the modern day school dinner is now a tasty treat for everyone. So we've decided to find out more for ourselves and are going to visit a different primary school each week to join the kids at lunchtime.
