Ash Cloud Provides Local Tourism Boost

Torbay's tourism industry's enjoying a timely boost - as holidaymakers left stranded at airports and unable to fly abroad because of the volcanic ash cloud - are now heading down to Devon to spend their holidays here.

Local hotels are reporting a big jump in extra bookings from people affected by the nationwide restrictions on flights, with many deciding to make the most of the time they've booked off work, and take a break within the UK.

It's come at a great time for local businesses too - with the period immediately after the Easter school holidays traditionally quite quiet.
