Open-Air Pool Saved From Closure

One of the last open air swimming pools in South Devon has been saved from closure.

A group of hard working mums, dads and not forgetting the lifeguards have spent the last 2 months fundraising to raise the 10 thousand pounds needed to keep Kingsteignton pool open during the summer months.

More will be needed for next season - But a major milestone has now been completed - And on Saturday 12th May hundreds of people are expected for the grand opening.

Its going to be £1 entry with new inflatables and a BBQ and the fun will start from 2pm.

On Friday May 11th a 15 year old girl is swimming the equivilent of the channel which is a 21 mile swim and this taking place in the pool.

They still need more funds and lots of support to make sure that the pool can remain open and a vital part of the community.

Most of the pupils at schools in the surrounding area learnt to swim at the pool and it's a great way of meeting new friends and getting exercise.
